SQUASH at LSTC
Squash has been a pivotal part of LSTC since the courts first opened. Since that time, many changes and improvements have been made to ensure that our members get the best experience when they play at the club. What has not changed is the strong sense of community that our squash members share.
So, what is so special about squash at LSTC?
Facilities
LSTC is home to two spectacular courts housed in a standalone building adjacent to the main clubhouse. The courts were fully refurbished in December 2021 and remain at an incredibly high standard for play now.

The squash block provides two recently built shower and changing rooms, as well as toilet facilities independent of the main club house. There is also a communal area that is comfortable for pre/post-match socialising.
Membership and benefits
There are a range of options for squash membership. If squash is your only passion, then you can benefit from squash only membership, if you would like to have a range of activities to keep you fit and healthy. LSTC also boasts access to a gym and indoor/outdoor tennis facilities.
Squash court costs are on top and are competitively priced. Peak times are £8 and Off peak are £5. Each session is 45 minutes long, and courts are bookable using our intuitive online system. You will gain access to the online booking facility as soon as your membership is confirmed. You may book courts in advance of up to 2 weeks.
Whichever level of membership you decide to be right for you, all members have access to the club house, pro-shop and cafe and bar. Perfect for socialising with your opponent after a tough game!

SQUASH coaching in Letchworth
We are proud to be the home of the best squash coach in Hertfordshire, Greg Millhouse. Greg is head coach for the club and provides services via his company Superstar Squash (www.superstarsquash.com).
Greg is a level 3 qualified coach with many years’ experience on court. He provides coaching to juniors through to adults, in both group and one to one sessions. You can have single lessons to suit your timetable, or you can sign up to a block of lessons and really start to hone your skills and play.
Coaching programmes are also being redesigned with particular focus on juniors and ladies. Having been previously granted and awarded funding from England Squash, this is one area we really hope to expand going forward.
Whether you are looking to fix a particular area, improve squash fitness or just raise your game in general, Greg’s coaching will take you to the next level. He can also make suggestions for you to play other similarly skilled members, ensuring that players, old and new, continue to have fantastic and competitive friendly matches.

Competitions
The club has run an annual ‘members only’ Christmas competition for many years now. This is a light-hearted evening of squash followed by dinner and drinks and much pre-Christmas merriment. The club also runs an annual events calendar which includes competitions and tournaments for members to enjoy. Further details are provided on our socials board in the main reception as well as being mailed out.
Leagues, teams and club night
No matter what level of competition you are looking for, we can cater for it! We hold a very friendly and sociable club night on Friday evenings. Perfect to run off the excesses of the weekend, and a particularly welcoming night for new members to meet existing players and start to feel a part of the community.
If you prefer more one on one competition, LSTC is proud to provide an internal box league for members to have some friendly competitive squash. The leagues are run on a monthly basis, with all match scores entered online. There is an automatic roll over at the end of each month with new boxes emailed out to the players. Box leagues are a big part of the LSTC squash culture, and they help promote the social interactive side of squash. Lastly, if being part of a team is what gets your pulse racing, LSTC is also proud to be home to both men’s and ladies squash teams in the local Hertfordshire leagues. Teams of 5 players are entered into local county leagues and play other local clubs in a one home / one away match per season rota. Squash being the inherently sociable game that it is, there is always the opportunity for the teams to have a drink and a meal after the match in the clubhouse, which going forward will be catered for by our new Café owners The Orchard!
